Walking "Alone"
"In that lovely box of mine is an entire universe so that you, me, or anyone can create a life of Independence - Liberty - Happiness"
People all give me looks of pity when they see that I’m always alone—going out alone, eating alone, drinking alone, shopping alone, going to the movies alone,... alone and alone. Strangely, I’ve never felt sorry for that at all.
I remember a design contest called “Think outside the box” when I was still a student. I imagined my box, then looked around it and thought: “My box is really great too! I will think inside the box. I will make this box so full of ideas that it explodes.”
It’s hard to see precisely how amazingly interesting the world inside me is. I bring my box everywhere to gather countless wonderful things, making it an even more magical collection than a museum. Some see me as crazy and exciting, they are the rare guests in my life who can see the world I collected in my box. Most people, though, never know that I am happy because they think they will get very frustrated when alone and thus sympathize with me.
However, it’s not that their boxes are empty. Everyone’s box is rich, but it’s just forgotten. Walking “alone” to me is walking with a whole universe. In that lovely box of mine is an entire universe so that you, me, or anyone can create a life of Independence - Liberty - Happiness.
Look around your box. Isn’t it so beautiful and exciting?
